Water-based paint factory

Debtech provided project management services to plan, manage and deliver this new highly automated water-based paint manufacturing facility.  The project combined engineering and process knowledge from local and international groups.

At project initiation: Debtech developed the engineering scope, tendered and awarded the ‘Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management’ (EPCM) agreement.

During design & procurement: Debtech negotiated, awarded & managed supply & construction contracts.  Production equipment was relocated from existing facilities, and purchased new from local and international vendors.

During construction: Superintendent role, Contract Management, Scheduler and Installation Manager.
Complex installation was performed under contract by local construction, mechanical & electrical contractors complying with codes, hazardous area zoning, dangerous goods regs, machinery safety, permit requirements all without interrupting the existing hazardous area (HA) production facilities on site.

During commissioning and startup: as Commissioning Manager, including several months of production ramp-up supervision.

This project included:

  • 6,000m2 multi-storey build
  • Batch mgmt. & recipe control systems (SAP/ERP integration)
  • Advanced manufacturing in all areas of paint making process.
  • Advanced dose & flow control, pigging-systems, high-speed dispersion, filling and packaging equipment

Resulting in an advanced, highly automated water-based paint factory
